The journal is expanding to accommodate current issues, clinical perspectives, conference and workshop reports, patient vignettes, medical and health news and short communications in various fields of medicine and surgery. We would like to encourage authors to send in articles in these categories.
We would also like to invite scholars to contribute to a CME column which would make the journal more functional to our junior colleagues globally.
We welcome suggestions and ideas on how to improve the quality and outcome of our journal.
We would like to apologize to authors for the delays in the publication process. This is largely due to the peer reviewer process. We will continue to strive to overcome this challenge.

As you may know, in the last couple of months the WAJMED team has been hard at work developing our new website and we are proud to inform you that the website is fully functional.

Procedures and steps on how to navigate the website will be placed on a page on the website itself as well as the monthly newsletter you receive from us.

All we need is for everyone to actively engage the website. Doing so, will improve the impact factor of the journal. We will be uploading past published articles on the website for free download to registered users.

REVIEW PROCESS

In order to expedite our review process and ensure that manuscripts are not unduly delayed, it is essential that all reviewers promptly review and submit their reports within the stipulated time frame.

We have been having difficulties getting reviewers to review certain manuscripts. We would henceforth, request that the authors submit three suggested reviewers who are not domiciled in their institutions. The editor-in-chief reserves the right and the discretion to use the suggested reviewers or not. However, these will add up to the pool or reviewers’ bank. Details would be communicated to authors as the need arises.

FINAL NOTE

Once again, I want to thank you all for your unparallel support towards the quality output of our journal. Our goal is to make the journal enviable journal, not only in the sub-Saharan Africa, but internationally.
